Here’s the Daily ESG Digest for September 20th, Tuesday.

1. (Europe) €1.6 Billion Energy Transition Fund. Sustainability-focused investment manager Mirova announced that it has raised €1.6 billion for the Mirova Energy Transition 5 (MET 5), its fifth – and by far largest – energy transition infrastructure equity fund, focused on the renewable energy and low-carbon mobility sectors. 2. (North America) Hybrid Electric Aircraft. Air Canada and electric aircraft company Heart Aerospace announced an order for 30 of Heart’s newly unveiled 30-seater hybrid electric aircraft, with an all-electric, zero-emission range of 200 km. Alongside the aircraft order, Heart Aerospace also announced that Air Canada and Swedish aerospace and defense company have each acquired a $5 million equity stake in Heart Aerospace. (Link)

3. (Oceania) Net Zero by 2030. Billionaire Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest’s Fortescue Metals Group says it will spend $A9.2 billion – most of it in the next four years – on its decarbonisation strategy that is targeting the complete decarbonisation of the company’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. (Link)
